Not only are we living on less and less each year, but our work environment has deteriorated as well. One would think that increasing computing power would be increasing opportunity to produce wealth and an opportunity for those who program those computers to earn more wealth for themselves. Instead, the bright promise of a bright future for bright people has become a dark age where people grow dumber as machines grow smarter.
Can we fight back? I don't believe we are going to confront the dragon and win. For every small case where justice is served, there are hundreds of larger cases that look like something out of Dilbert. The Peter Principle has been transformed into the Dilbert Principle. I have stories, you have stories, and even the people we tell stories about have their own stories of idiots in their management.
